Job summary

AEG Vision is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Optometrists and deliver high-quality patient care on-site. You will perform pre-testing, assist with diagnostic testing, and help manage schedules to ensure a smooth patient experience from check-in to check-out.

You will document findings in the EHR, coordinate referrals as needed, and participate in clerical duties related to medical documentation. The role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• Certification in eye care (CPO, CPOA, CPOT) preferred or required.
• Familiarity with medical terms related to eye care.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary patient evaluations prior to exams.
• Assist with specialty diagnostic testing and post-exam tasks.
• Manage doctor appointment schedules for efficient patient flow.
• Maintain and document patient records in EHR and ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Respond to patient inquiries about medications and procedures.
• May conduct diagnostic testing with specialty equipment (OCT, Visual Field, Pachymetry, Retinal Camera).
• Support scribe duties for the Optometrist or perform refractions as needed.
