Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic computer literacy and ability to learn practice management systems (EMR).
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with a patient-centered approach.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
• Ability to identify issues and contribute to solutions in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with privacy requirements.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, customers, and vendors in a friendly, professional manner and serve as the primary contact for patient interactions.
• Answer calls, respond to inquiries, and manage emails or digital communications promptly.
• Schedule patient appointments and support provider schedule optimization, including cancellations and reschedules.
• Execute appointment confirmations and reminders to reduce no-shows and prepare patients for visits.
• Verify insurance eligibility and patient demographics and enter data into EMR accurately.
• Maintain understanding of insurance plans and communicate coverage and patient financial responsibility.
• Prepare patient charts and required documentation for visits to support efficient flow.
• Collect and document charges, co-pays, and payments in EMR; monitor balances and assists with claim submission.
• Run reports to ensure charges are billed and accounts up to date.
• Coordinate with clinical and optical teams to assure smooth patient transitions during visits.
