Job summary

AEG Vision is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator to manage front desk operations and support patient flow. You will coordinate scheduling, assist the care team, and ensure a seamless experience for patients through clear communication and proactive appointment management.

Responsibilities include verifying insurance, entering demographics in the EMR, and supporting billing and follow-up outreach. A patient-centered, organized individual will thrive in a fast-paced dental/optometry setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with a patient-centered approach.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and act as the primary point of contact for patient interactions.
• Answer calls, respond to inquiries, and manage emails professionally.
• Schedule patient appointments and optimize provider schedules, including cancellations and reschedules.
• Execute appointment confirmations and reminders to reduce no-shows.
• Verify insurance eligibility and enter patient data accurately in EMR.
• Explain coverage, benefits, and patient financial responsibility clearly.
• Prepare patient charts and documentation prior to visits.
• Record and apply charges and payments in EMR; monitor balances and help with claim prep.
• Run reports to ensure charges are billed and up to date.
• Monitor daily patient flow and provider schedules; adjust as needed.
• Communicate wait times and next steps to patients to maintain a positive experience.
• Coordinate with clinical teams to ensure smooth transitions of care.
• Support recall and reactivation outreach for follow-ups and annual visits.
• Maintain a clean, organized front office environment.
