The role involves greeting patients, performing pretesting (blood pressure, NCT, color and stereo, autoprelim), scheduling, and maintaining equipment. Strong communication and multitasking are essential to manage patient needs and doctor priorities daily.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in ophthalmic/optometric/medical industry is a plus.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to multi-task and manage priorities in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients warmly and guide them to pretesting before the exam.
• Answer phones, schedule appointments, and transcribe messages.
• Perform pretesting such as blood pressure, NCT, color and stereo testing, and autoperimetry.
• Advocate for overall health evaluation (Optomap) where appropriate.
• Collect and relay patient health and ocular history to the doctor.
• Conduct contact lens insertion and removal training; order contacts.
• Maintain and clean equipment and doctor’s lanes; monitor supplies.
