Job summary

Physicians Eyecare Group seeks a compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our eye care team in New Mexico. You will perform comprehensive eye exams, manage ocular conditions, and co-manage pre-/post-operative care with ophthalmology colleagues.

The role emphasizes integrative optometric care and patient education, working within a multidisciplinary team to enhance eye health and overall well-being.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license issued by the New Mexico Board of Nursing.
• Current DEA registration or eligibility to obtain one in New Mexico.
• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical NP experience; ophthalmology or integrative medicine preferred.
• Proficiency with EHR/EMR systems and accurate clinical documentation.
• Excellent interpersonal communication and patient education skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive eye exams including visual acuity testing and refraction assessments.
• Diagnose and manage ocular conditions and co-manage pre-/post-operative care.
• Order diagnostic imaging and ocular testing (e.g., OCT, visual fields).
• Refer patients to ophthalmologists when needed and maintain HIPAA compliance.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver integrative eye care.
