Job summary

Physicians Eyecare Group is seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our eyecare center in New Mexico. You will perform comprehensive eye exams and provide integrative optometric care in a collaborative setting with ophthalmology colleagues.

The role requires an active NM NP license, DEA registration, and 2+ years in NP practice, ideally in eye care. On-site positions across Roswell, Clovis, Hobbs with flexible scheduling and team support.

Qualifications

Active unrestricted NP license issued by the NM Board of Nursing.
Current DEA registration or NM eligibility.
MSN or DNP from an accredited program.
Minimum 2 years NP experience; ophthalmology or integrative medicine preferred.
Proficiency with EHR/EMR systems.

Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive eye exams including visual acuity testing, refraction, and anterior/posterior segment evaluations.
Diagnose and manage ocular conditions including dry eye, conjunctivitis, blepharitis, glaucoma, and diabetic eye disease.
Co manage pre- and post-operative care for cataract, LASIK, and other ophthalmic procedures.
Order diagnostic imaging and ocular testing (OCT, visual fields, fundus photography).
Refer patients to ophthalmologists or specialists when clinical findings exceed NP scope or require surgery.
Provide integrative optometric care and preventive services addressing lifestyle and nutrition.
Maintain accurate, complete, timely clinical documentation in the EHR; participate in quality improvement and HIPAA/OSHA compliance.
