Job summary

Physicians Eyecare Group is seeking a compassionate Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP) in New Mexico to deliver comprehensive eye care and integrative optometric services. The NP will work within a multidisciplinary team, co-manage pre- and post-operative care, and perform full ocular assessments with modern surgical technologies.

The role requires an active NM NP license, DEA registration, and at least 2 years of NP experience in primary care or ophthalmology.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in NM.
• Current DEA registration or eligibility to obtain one in NM.
• MSN or DNP from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical NP experience; ophthalmology/primary care preferred.
• Strong proficiency with EHR/EMR systems and clinical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive eye exams including visual acuity testing and refraction assessments.
• Co-manage pre- and post-operative care for cataract surgery, LASIK, and other ophthalmic procedures.
• Order diagnostic imaging and ocular testing (OCT, visual fields, fundus photography).
• Refer patients to ophthalmologists when needed for surgical intervention.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in the EHR and participate in quality improvement.
