Experienced Revenue Cycle Manager - Home Infusion

This is a 100% remote position - please apply only if you have 3-5 years of Medical Insurance Revenue Cycle Management experience.

AIS Healthcare is looking for an experienced and motivated Accounts Receivable Collections Manager to join our dynamic team! This position is responsible for directing and coordinating the day-to-day activities of the Miscellaneous Accounts Receivables Teams (including Aetna, Cigna, Commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid payers) to maximize reimbursements. The Manager oversees these teams, focusing on managing denials, preparing appeals, and ensuring reimbursements align with AIS’s contracted payors. The Collections Manager will perform quality reviews, identify training needs, and help document policies and procedures.

The ideal candidate should have outstanding communication skills, in-depth knowledge of collection practices, and work in compliance with Federal and State rules, regulations, and policies related to billing and collection activities.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Collections Manager is a full-time role responsible for overseeing the collection staff and making daily decisions for AIS Healthcare’s Targeted Drug Delivery (TDD) services. This role involves directing all collection functions—contract analysis, reimbursement, denial management, appeals, and resolving billing issues with insurance companies or responsible parties. The Manager will perform regular quality reviews, determine training needs, and assist in documenting policies and procedures.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A high school diploma or GED is required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 5-7 years of healthcare industry experience required.
  • Home Infusion and Intrathecal Pain Management experience preferred.
  • 3-5 years of Revenue Cycle Management experience required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee collections operations, including contract analysis, accounts receivables, denials, claims monitoring, adjustments, appeals, and staff productivity and quality.
  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all collection and billing processes.
  • Coordinate with other departments to obtain necessary patient or insurance information for claims payment.
  • Prepare, analyze, and distribute bi-weekly progress reports.
  • Generate and review monthly/quarterly department scorecards.
  • Prepare other billing and financial reports as assigned.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory mandates.
  • Conduct quality reviews to improve collection and billing efficiency.
  • Ensure collection activities adhere to Federal, State, and payer regulations and guidelines.
  • Participate in developing and implementing policies and procedures.
  • Analyze trends affecting charges and coding; adjust staffing and policies accordingly.
  • Supervise collection staff—manage workload, training, and motivate performance in both in-office and remote settings.
  • Coordinate staff scheduling to ensure operational continuity.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  • Maintain knowledge of NDC numbers, infusion supplies, insurance plans, medical terminology, and coding.
  • Share knowledge with team members and foster teamwork.
  • Engage positively and respectfully with colleagues and clients.
  • Manage hiring, scheduling, and performance reviews, including disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Comprehensive understanding of Revenue Cycle Management functions and their integration.
  • Good judgment and problem-solving skills within legal and regulatory frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong integrity and credibility.
  • Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information in compliance with HIPAA.
  • Proficiency with ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Leadership skills to manage a diverse team amid changing priorities.
  • Effective communication with patients, providers, and staff.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, organized, and reliable.
  • Supervisory skills, including organizing and prioritizing tasks.
  • Problem-solving skills for complex issues.
  • Ability to make prompt, independent decisions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Tolerance for interruptions and distractions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.
