Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a POWER Testing and Energization Experienced P&C Field Services Technician to support testing and commissioning across multiple U.S. locations.

The role requires extensive experience with protective relays, high voltage equipment, and using test sets; travel up to 80%. You will work with the PTE Team on safety, data documentation, and regulatory compliance, contributing to project success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 7+ years in electrical testing including medium/high voltage equipment.
• Expertise with protective relays and testing procedures.
• Experience with testing standards (NETA, IEEE, NFPA).
• Willingness to travel up to 80%
• Valid driver's license and clean record.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing and commissioning on protection and control systems in HV substations.
• Conduct on-site relay testing using Omicron CMC 256/356 and Doble F6150.
• Document site activities with field forms, digital tools and mobile apps.
• Clean equipment, manage inventory, and perform calibration as directed.
• Support the Project Lead or Field Supervisor on projects.
• Escalate complex issues to site lead or project manager.
• Participate in daily safety briefings and follow safety protocols.
• Communicate progress and delays to the project team.
• Mentor junior technicians and ensure quality and accuracy.
• Maintain logs, photos and label entries with attention to detail.
• Collaborate with technicians to maintain workflow, safety and quality.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and report observations.
• Handle timecards, expense reports and project reports.
• Adhere to company Code of Conduct and policies.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 80%.
