Job summary

Renesas is seeking a Senior Director of Package & Assembly Engineering to lead the packaging development, NPI, and assembly engineering efforts. The role partners with Design, Application, Marketing, Product, Reliability, Quality, Operations, and Supply Chain teams and with OSAT/CM partners to ensure schedules, quality, and production readiness.

The leader will recruit and mentor a team of packaging engineers, establish governance, drive end-to-end program plans, and proactively mitigate risks.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in EE, materials science, physics, chemistry, or related field.
• 15–20+ years in semiconductor engineering, packaging, and technical program management.
• Strong understanding of semiconductor product development and package/assembly processes.
• Experience working with OSATs/CMs across distributed organizations.
• Proven leadership of cross-functional task forces addressing quality, reliability, yield, and schedule.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, build and mentor a new team of Packaging engineers.
• Lead program-level execution governance, accountability and milestones.
• Establish end-to-end NPI plans with critical paths and risk management.
• Create a disciplined program management operating model for development to volume ramp.
• Identify risks, escalate issues with clear recommendations and decisions.
• Lead cross-functional task forces for major development challenges.
• Drive data‑driven problem solving and corrective actions.
• Coordinate with Design, Application, Marketing, Product Engineering, Reliability, Quality, Ops, and Supply Chain.
• Establish dashboards and transparent milestone reporting.
• Manage OSAT/CM reviews, milestones and recovery plans.
