Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Houston seeks an Executive Director of Youth Development to oversee afterschool and day camp programs across Fort Bend and Greater Houston, ensuring safe, inclusive environments and high-quality curricula.

This role leads staff, drives strategic planning, and cultivates partnerships with schools, ISDs, families, and community organizations while supporting the Y’s mission.

Travel and long hours are possible as the leader fosters program excellence and organizational growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human services or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Six or more years of management experience in youth development or nonprofit setting.
• Ability to direct operations, staff development, budgeting, marketing, and program development.
• Experience engaging volunteers and community partners.
• Knowledge of licensing standards and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic implementation and daily operations of high-quality out-of-school-time programs.
• Oversee hiring, training, supervision, and accountability of program staff.
• Direct financial development activities and seek new funding sources.
• Develop and monitor the center budget to meet targets.
• Build and maintain relationships with families, schools, ISDs, and community partners.
• Ensure safety and maintenance of facilities and equipment.
• Represent the YMCA at local and national conferences.
• Ensure curricula meet licensing standards and drive program quality.
