Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking a Youth Development Site Director to manage program operations, ensure safety, and provide age-appropriate activities within Houston ISD service areas. You will lead staff, monitor behavior, and ensure compliance with licensing and YMCA policies.

The role emphasizes community engagement, enrollment growth, and continuous program quality improvements, aiming to deliver high-impact youth development experiences for children and families.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED and minimum 70 clock hours of training in child or youth development, recreational leadership, or management.
• Two college courses equivalently satisfy 100 clock hours; minimum Standard #744.1017.
• Minimum of two years' experience working with youth at a licensed facility, church, school, or equivalent setting.
• Eligible to be listed as a qualified caregiver for Texas Child Care Licensing.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention trainings required.
• Ability to plan, organize, and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities.
• Experience working with diverse populations; supervisory experience preferred.
• Current TB examination and/or local health department requirements.
• Pass local/state background and FBI fingerprinting check.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily site operations to maintain a safe and enriching environment for all children.
• Ensure safety, supervision, and security; monitor behavior and maintain attendance records.
• Lead delivery of age-appropriate activities aligned with YMCA curriculum and quality standards.
• Maintain enrollment records, postings, and compliance materials; participate in audits.
• Plan and implement lesson/activity plans; promote positive social interactions and inclusivity.
• Support parent and community engagement through meetings and campus events.
• Assist with on-site recruitment, retention strategies, and enrollment growth.
• Implement YMCA Youth Program Quality processes and monitor program improvements.
