The State of Florida seeks a professional to coordinate the executive appointments process for the Senate Ethics & Elections Committee. Primary duties include processing appointments, updating databases, coordinating background checks, and preparing related correspondence and reports.

Ideal candidates hold a relevant degree with several years of accounting, budgeting, or administrative experience and demonstrate strong communication and confidentiality in a fast-paced legislative environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, public administration, or related field plus 3 years of professional experience.
  • Master's degree or CPA can substitute for one year of required experience.
  • Professional experience can substitute for college education on a year-for-year basis.
  • Experience in accounting, budgeting, or administrative work is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Process executive appointments subject to Senate confirmation.
  • Input and update data to the database used by the Senate to process executive appointments.
  • Prepare correspondence to request background information from agencies.
  • Track legislation affecting boards and appointees.
  • Maintain financial or administrative records and prepare status reports.
