Job summary

Driftwood Hospitality Management in Novi, MI is seeking an on-call Banquet Server to assist with event setup and breakdown and to serve food and beverages to guests in a courteous, professional manner per hotel standards.

You will gather supplies, attend pre-event briefings, greet guests, clear tables, replenish beverages, and help reset rooms between functions. A Food Handler Card and knowledge of liquor regulations are required, with benefits including health insurance and 401(k).

Qualifications

• Knowledge of state, federal and corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.
• Hold a current Food Handler Card.
• Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations and service standards.
• Knowledge of appropriate table settings and service ware.
• Basic English to understand inquiries and instructions.

Responsibilities

• Gather supplies and set up banquet room as described in the Banquet Event Order and as instructed by Banquet Captain.
• Attend stand up meetings before events to learn function particulars and guest expectations.
• Greet guests and respond to requests in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Serve the food and/or beverage in the order and to the expectation of the Banquet Captain.
• Bus dishes and replenish beverages as necessary; check guest satisfaction.
• Reset banquet rooms for the following function and assist other team members as needed.
• Perform side work and maintain health standards.
