Job summary

The Decatur Family YMCA in Decatur, IL is seeking a Part-Time Membership Clerk to enhance the member experience evenings and weekends. You will greet members, manage check-ins, assist with fee information, and promote YMCA programs while maintaining a welcoming, orderly front desk.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma and at least 1 year of customer service, with strong computer skills and accurate typing. Weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent degree required.
• 1 Year Customer Service Experience required.
• Excellent personal computer skills.
• Typing speed 35 words per minute with 10-key experience.
• Highly attentive to detail.

Responsibilities

• Greet members and guests.
• Provide a customer-friendly, orderly, and efficient Membership operation including check-in, receipting, access control, tours, telephone, and reception functions.
• Become an expert in YMCA and its programs so accurate information is given on programs, fees, and fee structure.
• Serve as a YMCA membership sales representative, encouraging membership purchase and use.
• Maintain a positive and organized work environment contributing to a friendly and inviting atmosphere.
• Assist in clerical and detail-oriented work such as mailings and phone calls as workflow allows.
• Work within established policies and procedures to serve the community and mission.
• Articulate the YMCA’s mission, values, and benefits.
• Ask members to contribute to the annual campaign.
• Ensure happy, satisfied, and welcome members and guests.
• Ensure accurate cash outs.
• Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings.
• Be open, friendly, and approachable to members and offer help.
