Job summary

Mass General Brigham in Boston seeks an Evening Unit Coordinator to provide administrative support on a 20-bed inpatient unit. You will aid patient flow, admissions, discharges and transfers, and liaison with clinicians, patients and visitors. This is a full-time, on-site role with weekend and holiday coverage.

The role requires strong MS Office skills, excellent communication, and ability to manage confidential information. Benefits include health, retirement, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Proficient with office procedures and equipment (filing, copying, scanning, printing, faxing).
• Proficient in MS Office and document proofreading/editing.
• Able to handle phone systems and professional communication.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; strong interpersonal abilities.
• Familiarity with medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, families, visitors and coworkers professionally in person and via tools.
• Receive, prioritize, organize and manage information at central nursing station and unit.
• Schedule consultations, tests, procedures, and patient transport to other departments.
• Enter admissions, discharges and transfers into EMR accurately and timely.
• Coordinate with ancillary services to obtain equipment, services and supplies; track status.
• May assist manager with payroll duties or staff scheduling; supervise unit secretaries.
