Job summary

Stormont-Vail HealthCare, Inc. seeks a part-time Telecommunications Operator for evenings. You will handle incoming calls, activate emergency tones, and coordinate on-call staff while monitoring alarms and paging systems.

The role requires documenting actions and maintaining professional interactions with staff and patients. The operator will use multiple software systems to manage communications, respond to emergencies, and provide timely information to hospital teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 months of related experience.
• Proficient in HICS Emergency Notification Process.
• Able to multitask with interruptions.

Responsibilities

• Answer and distribute all incoming calls in a timely and accurate manner.
• Provide operator assistance to callers as needed.
• Monitor the Simplex system and take appropriate actions.
• Activate the EMERGENCY TONE for Code Blue and Severe Weather.
• Answer the 6444 Emergency Assistance Line and follow policy.
• Make overhead announcements including Code Blue and weather alerts.
• Monitor National Weather Service resources and implement procedures.
• Initiate Emergin pages as required.
• Document and log all processes for reference.
