Job summary

Rutgers University Correctional Health Care is seeking a Per Diem UCHC Technician I for East Jersey State Prison in Rahway, NJ. The role involves supporting clinical and administrative medical teams within the prison setting and performing routine patient care tasks.

Responsibilities include vital signs, assisting with examinations, specimen collection, and managing supplies. Onsite work arrangement and Teamster affiliation are noted.

Qualifications

• CMA, EMT, or CNA certification required with at least two years of healthcare experience.
• CPR certification required.
• Valid driver's license with own transportation required.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs, height and weight and document in EMR.
• Assist physician/PA with procedures and patient preparation.
• Obtain specimen collection and handling, including drawing blood.
• Assist with cleaning, sterilization and securing of equipment in Health Service Unit.
• Maintain or assist in maintaining supply stock and coordinate with pharmacy.
