Job summary

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center seeks a switchboard operator to deliver superior front-line customer service and manage internal and external communications via an integrated computer telephony system.

This 3pm-11:30pm role requires multitasking, rapid information gathering, and the ability to work in a fast-paced 24/7 environment, including weekend rotations and staff training.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; certification or vocational training may be preferred.
• 1 year of relevant experience required; 2-4 years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for OSUMC healthcare network and triage calls.
• Screen patient information, paging, public address announcements, and after-hours calls; document emergent communications.
• Maintain on-call schedules and provide technical support for pager issues; support weekend on-call rotations and training of new staff.
