Job summary

Ohio State University seeks a Switchboard Operator for the 2nd shift to serve as the frontline contact in Health System Shared Services. This role answers, routes, triages critical and non-critical calls and uses an integrated telephony system to communicate with the care teams.

The operator will work 3 pm–11:30 pm with every-other weekend. A high school diploma or GED is required, and 1 year of relevant experience is expected; 2–4 years is preferred.

• Ability to multi-task within several computer applications
• Screen for patient information; screen calls and document emergent communications

Responsibilities

• Answer, route and triage calls 24/7
• Screen for patient information and maintain on-call schedules
• Provide technical support for pager issues and after-hours calls
