Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking an administrative/customer service associate to support daily service center operations. You will handle filing, data entry, caller inquiries, and freight documentation, ensuring accurate and timely updates.

The role involves scheduling pickups/deliveries, assisting with billing questions, and coordinating with drivers and sales teams to meet customer needs in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or preferred.
• Two years general office experience preferred.
• One year customer service experience preferred.
• Previous transportation experience preferred.
• Strong phone and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to understand FedEx service products to assist customers.
• Proficient with general office equipment (computer, fax, copier, scanner).
• Typing/data entry skills; ten-key skills preferred.
• PC experience with ability to learn systems/programs.
• Demonstrated time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform clerical tasks: filing, copying, imaging, answering phones, data entry, mail/distribution.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Provide information and assist customers with pickups, deliveries, and service options.
• Enter freight shipment data, status updates, and billing information.
• Administer freight pickup processes as needed.
• Assist customers via phone/e-mail/fax with inquiries and tracing shipments.
• Schedule freight deliveries and respond to rate quotes and tariff questions.
• Review drivers’ Hours-of-Service logs and report discrepancies.
