Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking an administrative associate to handle customer needs and freight documentation in the service center. You will process shipments, answer inquiries, and coordinate pickups and deliveries, ensuring accurate systems data and timely communication.

The role requires strong communication, multitasking, and basic math, with a preference for prior transportation experience and a high school diploma or equivalent. Office environment with varied hours.

Qualifications

• Two years general office experience preferred.
• One year customer service experience, preferred.
• Previous transportation experience preferred.
• Strong phone and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform administrative/clerical functions: files, copying, imaging, answering phones, data entry, mail/distribution.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Provide accurate information and assistance to customers, determine needs, update systems, and sell services.
• Enter freight shipment information into computer systems and generate freight bills.
• Administer freight pick-up process and assist customers via phone, e-mail, and fax.
• Make freight delivery appointments and assist with inquiries including tracing shipments and billing.
