Job summary

Banyan Treatment Centers is seeking a compassionate Recovery Support Specialist (RSS) to provide direct support within inpatient behavioral health programs. The RSS focuses on patient safety, engagement, and daily operations, collaborating with clinical staff to maintain a structured, recovery-oriented environment.

The role involves spending significant time with patients, building rapport, observing behaviors, and communicating findings to the treatment team to support care progress and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; 21+ years old.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record when driving is assigned.
• Experience in behavioral health, substance use, or mental health settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous patient supervision and safety checks.
• Monitor patient behavior, document observations, and report concerns to staff.
• Respond to crises using de-escalation techniques and follow protocols.
• Ensure facility rules are followed with a respectful, therapeutic approach.
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and patient movement as assigned.
