Job summary

Banyan Treatment Centers in Baldwinville, MA is seeking a compassionate Recovery Support Specialist (RSS) to provide direct support and supervision within our inpatient behavioral health and substance use treatment programs.

You will work as a key member of the treatment team, spend time with patients to build rapport, monitor safety, document observations, and support clinical staff while maintaining a structured, therapeutic milieu.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 21+ age minimum; valid driver’s license if driving is required.
• Experience in behavioral health or SUD/MH settings preferred.
• Detoxification/residential care experience preferred.
• Behavioral health certification or related education preferred.
• Professional, empathetic, and calm under pressure with strong communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous patient supervision and safety checks.
• Observe and document patient behavior; report concerns to staff.
• Respond to crisis situations with de-escalation techniques.
• Assist admissions, discharges, and patient movement.
• Support treatment engagement and daily routine within the milieu.
• Communicate patient information to supervisors and care teams.
