Job summary

Banyan Treatment Centers is seeking a compassionate Recovery Support Specialist (RSS) to provide direct supervision and support in our inpatient behavioral health programs. The RSS focuses on patient safety, engagement, and daily operational support within a structured, recovery-focused environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 21+ years old with valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record when driving is assigned.
• Experience in behavioral health or addiction treatment preferred.
• Experience in detoxification/residential care preferred.
• Behavioral health certification or related education preferred.
• Strong observation, communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous patient supervision and safety checks.
• Monitor patient behavior and document observations; report concerns to staff.
• Respond to crisis using de-escalation techniques and follow emergency protocols.
• Maintain adherence to facility rules while providing a therapeutic approach.
• Assist with admissions, discharges, patient movement, and group activities.
• Support patient engagement and daily routines within the milieu.
• Collaborate with clinical, nursing, medical, and operations staff to ensure safety.
