Banyan Treatment Centers is seeking a compassionate Recovery Support Specialist (RSS) to provide direct support within our inpatient behavioral health and substance use treatment programs. The RSS focuses on patient safety, engagement, and daily operational support to foster a structured, therapeutic environment.

Reporting to Operations Leadership, the RSS builds rapport with patients, observes behaviors, documents observations, and supports clinical staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/equivalent or higher.
• Minimum age of 21 and valid driver's license when driving is assigned.
• Experience in behavioral health or substance use treatment preferred.
• Detox/ residential care experience preferred.
• Behavioral health certification or related education preferred.
• Maintain professionalism, empathy, and composure in high‑stress situations.
• Strong observation, communication, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsabilités

• Provide continuous patient supervision and safety checks.
• Monitor patient behavior and report concerns to clinical staff.
• Respond to crises using de-escalation techniques and follow protocols.
• Ensure adherence to facility rules while maintaining a therapeutic environment.
• Provide documentation and observations to support treatment progress.
• Assist with admissions, discharges, patient movement, and activities.
• Support patient engagement in treatment programming and daily routines.
• Collaborate with clinical, nursing, medical, and operations staff.
