UMass Memorial Health in Milford, MA is seeking a Registration Specialist to support patient intake and verification processes in a busy hospital setting. You will collect demographics, insurance details, and obtain approvals for services while coordinating with care teams.

The role emphasizes accuracy, high-volume data entry, customer service, and adherence to HIPAA regulations. A high school diploma is required; associate degree preferred; on-site schedule includes 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM shifts.

Qualificações

• Proficient data-entry skills with attention to detail.
• Experience in hospital admissions, insurance, billing, scheduling or telephone customer service.
• Must have computer skills including Windows and basic software navigation.

Responsabilidades

• Accurately enters demographic, insurance and related patient information into the registration system.
• Obtains and verifies patient insurance coverage and referrals as required.
• Schedules Radiology, Lab and basic ancillary service appointments.
• Completes Emergency Department and Labor & Delivery demographic and insurance collection.
• Manages patient balances and pre-authorizations prior to service.
• Performs bed control, transfers, discharges and admissions tasks.
• Provides patient information on preparation for procedures and services.
• Assesses financial needs and directs to counseling.
• Maintains records, logs and files; retrieves documents as needed.
• Responds to inquiries and maintains high standards of professionalism.
