Job summary

UMass Memorial Health Marlborough Hospital is hiring for a part-time Registration/Scheduling Associate. You will assist with patient registration, scheduling across multiple facilities, and insurance verifications in a fast-paced environment.

There is an evening shift from 3:00pm to 11:30pm, with every other weekend and holidays required. Training on EPIC will occur in Worcester for two weeks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred in Business or Healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Enter Lab, Radiology and basic ancillary service appointments to schedules.
• Schedule patients for treatment and services for multiple providers at multiple campuses.
• Coordinate the provision of multiple services to patients.
• Process updates and corrections to patient insurance and demographic information; obtain referrals and authorizations.
• Collect patient liabilities prior to or on the date of service.
• Arrange tests and procedures according to guidelines and criteria.
• Prioritize visits to optimize physician time and resources.
• Enter patient data into registration/scheduling systems; verify insurance coverage.
• Ensure pre-authorization and referrals are obtained before visits.
• Follow up to correct discrepancies; notify patients of times.
• Provide patients with prep info and mail information packets.
• Transcribe paper orders when applicable.
• Assess financial needs and direct to counseling.
