Job summary

Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center is seeking an outpatient unit receptionist to serve as the primary contact for patients and visitors. You will provide excellent customer service, collect information, and support scheduling, billing, and flow of the practice.

Responsibilities include check-in, verifying demographics, processing referrals, and ensuring smooth patient flow while maintaining confidentiality and using hospital computer systems. Evening, per diem hours with potential for growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s degree preferred.
• 0-1 years related work experience required.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients and the public by phone and in person.
• Obtain patient information and relay to providers.
• Prepare schedules, medical records, and documents.
• Check in, registration, and verify demographic and financial info.
• Collect co-payments and direct patients to next service area.
• Monitor patient flow and resolve delays.
• Schedule follow-ups and related tests; provide educational materials.
