Job summary

Sentara RMH Medical Center in Harrisonburg, VA seeks a Patient Access Representative for a part-time day schedule. You will handle patient registration, verify identity, and process insurance information in the EHR, collect co-pays, and assist families in waiting rooms.

The role may include scheduling, pre-admission and discharge duties, and providing updates to families while maintaining privacy standards. Prior customer service and healthcare exposure are preferred.

Qualifications

• 2 years of customer service or data entry experience required.
• Healthcare experience required.
• Proficiency in keyboarding skills required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and payer processes preferred.

Responsibilities

• Register patients by verifying identity and selecting the correct chart in the EHR.
• Scan and attach insurance cards, IDs, Living Wills, and POAs.
• Enter demographics and insurance information into the system accurately.
• Explain and collect co-pays, deposits, and outstanding balances securely.
