Job summary

IGH L is seeking a Direct Support Professional to act as a role model for developmentally disabled individuals. The DSP will provide hands-on assistance for activities of daily living and support in transportation, nutrition, and community activities.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, NYS driver’s license, SCIP and Adult CPR certifications, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. It is a full-time, non-exempt role within the Residential department.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• SCIP and Adult CPR certifications.
• Valid NYS driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Administers medication per OPWDD AMAP certification.
• Uses proactive approaches to encourage choice making and applies redirection techniques per SCIP certification.
• Supervises and assists with self-care routines (toileting, bathing, dressing, eating).
• Implements program goals in self-care, communication, independence, mobility, and documentation.
