Job summary

IGHL Inc. is hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to act as a role model for individuals with developmental disabilities. The DSP will provide hands-on support with ADLs, document care, supervise daily tasks, and assist with medications per OPWDD certifications.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and community engagement. Candidates should have a High School Diploma or GED, a valid NYS driver’s license, and be prepared to complete SCIP and Adult CPR certifications within 6 months.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly.
• Valid NYS Driver’s license is required.
• Experience in direct support or care roles is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Administers medication following OPWDD AMAP certification.
• Provides hands-on assistance with activities of daily living.
• Supervises and guides consumers during self-care routines and daily tasks.
• Maintains documentation in logs including nursing, medication, and incident reports.
• Supports recreational activities and community outings.
• Ensures safety and adherence to policy and training.
