Job summary

IGH L Inc. is seeking a Direct Support Professional in New York to model respectful care for individuals with developmental disabilities. The DSP will provide hands-on ADL assistance and transportation duties as needed, following OPWDD AMAP and SCIP guidelines.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, a valid NYS driver’s license, and current SCIP and Adult CPR certifications. The position involves lifting, documentation, and participation in trainings and meetings within a residential

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid NYS driver’s license required.
• SCIP and Adult CPR certifications required per IGHL policy.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. at least five times per hour.
• Regularly scheduled days, including holidays, are required.

Responsibilities

• Administers medication per OPWDD AMAP certification.
• Encourages choice making and uses redirect techniques per SCIP certification.
• Assists with ADL and provides physical support as needed.
• Implements program goals in self-care, communication, living skills, mobility, and documentation.
• Maintains logs for nursing, medication, exposure control, behavior, and first aid.
