Job summary

IGH L Inc. is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to model respectful care for adults with developmental disabilities in a residential setting in New York. The DSP will assist with ADLs, provide hands-on support, and help implement program goals and documentation requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid NYS Driver’s license.
• SCIP and Adult CPR certifications required.
• AMAP certification per OPWDD policy.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs multiple times per hour.
• Able to sit, stand, or bend throughout shift.
• Enthusiastic team player with professional handling of stress.

Responsibilities

• Administers medication per OPWDD AMAP policy.
• Encourages choice making and uses redirection techniques.
• Assists with self-care routines and provides hands-on support.
• Maintains documentation for nursing, medication, and logs.
• Supervises consumer during house chores and community activities.
• Provides transportation and supervision for community activities when needed.
• Keeps certifications current and participates in trainings.
• Adheres to IGHL safety policies and mission.
