Job summary

IGH L Inc is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to serve as a positive role model for individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting. The DSP will provide hands-on ADL assistance, supervise tasks, and support daily living activities with respect and teamwork.

Responsibilities include medications administration, documentation, and enabling residents to participate in leisure and community activities; certification maintenance (AMAP, SCIP, CPR) is required within six

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• NYS Driver’s license is required.
• Complete and maintain SCIP and Adult CPR certifications; adhere to IGHL policy.
• Must be able to work regularly scheduled days, including holidays.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. at least five times per hour.
• Able to sit, stand or bend throughout the day.
• Enthusiastic team player capable of handling stressful situations.

Responsibilities

• Administers medication in accordance with OPWDD AMAP certification.
• Encourages choice making and uses redirection techniques as per SCIP certification.
• Supervises and assists with self-care tasks (toileting, bathing, dressing, etc.).
• Implements program goals in self-care, communication, independent living, mobility and learning.
• Performs housekeeping duties and supervises consumer participation.
• Supports recreation and community activities and transportation as needed.
• Maintains accurate logs for nursing, medication, and incidents.
