Job summary

St. Luke’s University Health Network is seeking a Mental Health Professional to provide comprehensive crisis intervention in the Emergency Department or Walk-In Center.

You will coordinate admissions and referrals for patients and collaborate with physicians, BH staff, and other hospital teams to ensure appropriate placement and care. The role requires a mental health professional with a relevant degree and 1 year of direct clinical mental health/crisis intervention experience.

Qualifications

• Mental health professional with at least a Bachelor’s degree in a human services field and 2–6 years of experience; Master’s degree preferred.
• Master’s degree in human services is preferred or required with related experience.
• Experience in crisis intervention, case management/utilization review or managed care models is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake assessments for patients in Emergency Department or Walk-In Center and refer to appropriate level of care.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practitioners and BH staff to facilitate referrals and placement.
• De-escalate agitation or violent behavior and assist with patient safety tools when needed.
• Support utilization management pre-certification for intakes and consults.
• Monitor therapeutic environment and assist with other duties as assigned.
