Job summary

St. Luke’s University Health Network seeks a Mental Health professional to provide comprehensive crisis intervention, intake assessments, and referral coordination for patients in the Emergency Department and Walk In Center.

The role includes liaising with BH staff, ensuring appropriate placement, and supporting regulatory requirements for patient rights and admission status. The position requires a mental health professional with at least a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a human services

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a human services field with relevant experience or training.
• Master’s degree with 1–3 years of equal job experience preferred.
• Direct crisis intervention experience and familiarity with case management required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake assessments for patients in the Emergency Department or Walk In Center and refer to appropriate level of care.
• Coordinate with care teams and BH staff to facilitate referral decisions and placement.
• Serve as liaison for hospital/network sites and support patient flow and regulator-compliant admissions.
• Demonstrate knowledge of mental health regulations affecting patient rights and admission status.
• Perform de-escalation, and participate in safety procedures including seclusion/restraints as needed.
• Support utilization management pre-certification processes and monitor the therapeutic environment.
