Job summary

St. Luke's University Health Network seeks a Mental Health Clinician to provide comprehensive crisis intervention in the Emergency Department and Walk-In Center.

You will perform intake assessments, coordinate admissions and referrals, and collaborate with physicians, advanced practitioners and other behavioral health staff to place patients at the appropriate level of care. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a human services field with 2–6 years of experience.
• Master’s degree in a human services field with 1–3 years of experience.
• Master’s degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conducts intake assessments for mental health needs in the Emergency Department and/or Walk-In Center and makes referral recommendations to appropriate level of care.
• Interacts with care teams including physicians, advanced practitioners and other BH staff to facilitate referrals and placement.
• Serves as a liaison for other hospital/network sites and supports requests from other patient care areas.
• Demonstrates knowledge of Mental Health regulations and patient rights, including voluntary/involuntary status of admission.
• Demonstrates skill in de-escalation and supports use of restraints when necessary.
