Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, MA is seeking a Medical Technologist I in Hematology/HEM for an on-site, full-time 32-hour evening shift (3:00pm–11:30pm). You will perform and interpret a wide range of chemical, microscopic, and bacteriologic tests to aid in diagnosis, following established protocols.

Qualifications include an associate degree in clinical lab science (MLT) or a bachelor’s in sciences, with CLIA high complexity eligibility. ASCP certification as MLT/MT is preferred.

Qualifications

• Education must meet the requirements for high complexity testing as defined by CLIA Sec. 493.1487.
• ASCP certification as an MLT/MT is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follows established protocols to perform a wide range of tests in an assigned area.
• Interprets and correlates clinical test results with patient history, diagnosis, and clinical condition to explain results.
• Ensures preventative maintenance for equipment and performs routine troubleshooting and modification of equipment.
• Maintains accurate records of tests performed using computer-based systems.
