Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, MA is seeking a Medical Technologist to perform and interpret a range of hematology tests in a high-volume laboratory.

You will work with independence, guide less experienced staff, and ensure results meet quality standards; a bachelor’s degree and ASCP certification are preferred, with a minimum of three years of related experience. Schedule includes a 7:00 am - 3:30 pm shift with 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology required or equivalent.
• ASCP MT certification preferred.
• Three years of related experience required; hematology experience necessary.

Responsibilities

• Follows established protocols to perform tests in the assigned area.
• Provides guidance and consultation to staff on complex results.
• Interprets test results in context of patient history and diagnosis; ensures quality control.
