Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, MA seeks a Medical Laboratory Technologist to perform and interpret tests to aid in patient care. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology and ASCP MT certification preferred, with at least three years of hematology experience.

Qualifications

• License/Certification/Education: Required: Bachelor’s degree or successful completion of an accredited four-year school of Medical Technology.
• Preferred: ASCP certification as an MT is preferred.
• Experience/Skills: Required: Three years of related experience. Hematology experience necessary.

Responsibilities

• Follows established protocols to perform various tests, including the most complex, for an assigned area.
• Provides guidance and consultation to Medical Technologist I’s and Medical Lab Technicians in interpretation of complex or unusual test results.
• Interprets and correlates clinical test results with patient history, diagnosis, and clinical condition to explain results.
