Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a qualified Medical Technologist to perform and interpret a range of hematology tests in a high-volume laboratory. The role requires independence and proficiency with equipment and procedures for an assigned area.

The position expects a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology with related experience, and ASCP MT certification is preferred. 40-hour work week with day shift and potential for a signing bonus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or completion of an accredited four-year school of Medical Technology.
• ASCP certification as MT is preferred.
• Three years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Follows established protocols to perform various tests, including the most complex, for an assigned area.
• Interprets and correlates clinical test results with patient history and diagnosis to explain results.
• Troubleshoots testing process discrepancies.
• Assists in developing new tests and quality procedures for the assigned area.
• Ensures test results meet the laboratory quality control program requirements.
