Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, MA, is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist to perform and interpret complex hematology and other related tests. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology and 3+ years of related experience, with ASCP MT certification preferred.

You will work with independence, following established protocols, and support test development and quality procedures within a 40-hour, day-shift schedule.

Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology.
• Preferred: ASCP MT certification.
• Required: Three years of related experience; hematology experience required.

Responsibilities

• Follow established protocols to perform tests in assigned area and interpret results.
• Correlate test results with patient history and diagnosis to explain normal/abnormal results.
• Troubleshoot discrepancies in testing procedures and assist in developing new tests and quality procedures.
• Ensure test results meet laboratory quality control requirements.
