Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Laboratory Operations Leader to oversee technical areas across hospitals within the enterprise, including department and shift oversight. You will drive performance, safety, quality, and cost-effective operations in alignment with enterprise goals.

Responsibilities include directing staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, coordinating training, and partnering with site leaders to optimize resources and patient care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences or Medical Technology or equivalent.
• MLS or MT certification from ASCP or equivalent.
• Typically requires 3 years of experience in technical laboratory services and operations.

Responsibilities

• Assumes day-to-day department operations; provides guidance to staff and oversees testing.
• Participates in projects to meet strategic initiatives and measure quantitative outcomes.
• Monitors budget compliance and analyzes departmental performance to address variances.
• Collaborates to optimize teammate engagement and physician/patient satisfaction.
• Ensures quality, regulatory, accreditation, compliance and competency standards are met.
