Advocate Health is seeking a senior laboratory operations leader for a defined service area. You will drive optimization of resources, financial performance, safety, and quality while aligning with enterprise strategies and partner with internal leaders and business partners.

The role requires extensive leadership experience in technical laboratory services, regulatory compliance, and optimizing operations across markets.

Qualifications

License/Registration/Certification Required: MLS or MT certification (ASCP BOC)
Education Required: Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences or Medical Technology
Experience Required: Typically requires 10 years in technical lab services and leadership in staff/budgets/multiple lab functions

Responsibilities

Collaborate with regional ops and medical leaders to strengthen the region/enterprise.
Partner with pathologists and admin leadership to support clinical and safety initiatives.
Direct and oversee operations; participate in projects to meet strategic initiatives.
Develop and monitor budgets; analyze fiscal needs, patient satisfaction and department performance.
Set operating and capital budgets; control expenditures within approved objectives.
Develop and implement performance improvement processes to boost patient satisfaction and engagement.
Implement standards and systems to raise quality, efficiency, and timeliness.
Ensure compliance with laws, regulations and accreditation; maintain inspection readiness.
Communicate effectively with leadership to provide excellent customer service.
