Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Laboratory Services leader to oversee clinical laboratory operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and regulatory compliance across the enterprise. You will collaborate with pathologists and executive leadership to drive performance improvements and high-quality patient care.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences and at least 3 years in technical laboratory services, with strong leadership, communication, and CIS skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences or Medical Technology required.
• Typically 3 years of experience in technical laboratory services and operations.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance, accrediting and licensing agency requirements.
• Excellent organization and communication skills and strong leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with pathologists and leadership to support clinical and safety initiatives.
• Direct and oversee efficient laboratory operations and liaise with lab leadership.
• Maintain competency in test systems and serve as SME in area of responsibility.
• Identify and implement performance improvement to improve patient satisfaction and staff engagement.
• Plan and implement standards to enhance quality, efficiency, and timeliness; foster innovation.
• Ensure operations comply with laws, regulations, and accrediting agencies; maintain inspection readiness.
• Develop and maintain effective communication; collaborate with leadership to provide excellent customer service.
• Accountable for test result accuracy, staffing, and resource utilization.
• Coach and develop team; set expectations, provide feedback, and manage performance as needed.
