Job summary

Central Virginia Community College is seeking a Computer Operations Techn I to support campus IT services in the evening shift, 28 hours per week, in Lynchburg, VA. The role installs computers, troubleshoots software and hardware, and assists with AV setups and lab reloads as part of the Information Technology team.

Responsibilities include documenting issues and resolutions, providing user assistance, maintaining inventory, and coordinating with senior staff on IT projects.

Qualifications

• AAS in Computer Information Systems or related field; equivalent experience accepted.
• Experience with Windows 10/11 and Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with LANs, AV equipment, and troubleshooting.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide user assistance for software/hardware and AV equipment.
• Install computers and peripherals and perform routine software upgrades.
• Document problem resolutions and escalate complex issues.
• Assist IT staff on projects, labs, and hardware upgrades.
