Job summary

Virginia Tech seeks a Computer Support Technician to assist the IT Operations Manager in delivering end-user support to Undergraduate Admissions and other Enrollment Management teams. You will troubleshoot, diagnose, repair computers, and ensure users work effectively.

You may also assist with routine maintenance and AV setups for events, following established policies. A team-based environment and reliable service are essential in this campus IT setting.

Qualifications

• Experience with installing, operating, and troubleshooting computer hardware and software.
• Experience installing computer peripherals such as printers, scanners, or similar devices.
• Experience with Windows and Mac Operating systems
• Experience in providing good customer service
• Experience with operating and troubleshooting Audio/Visual equipment
• Ability to work within a team to meet departmental needs along with fortifying departmental procedures and policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide end-user support to Undergraduate Admissions and other Enrollment Management departments.
• Troubleshoot, run diagnostics, repair computers and equipment, resolve technical issues.
• Assist in routine maintenance on installed computer equipment following procedures.
• Assist with Audio/Visual setup and events when necessary.
