Job summary

Bridgewell is seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist people with developmental and psychiatric disabilities in residential programs. The role involves daily living skills coaching, documentation, and community integration.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and may involve evening and overnight shifts. One year of driving a van, a valid license, and willingness to obtain certifications are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or 5+ years of verified experience in the same position is required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience working with people with developmental or psychiatric disabilities preferred.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to prepare clear documents.
• Ability to drive a large/ wheelchair van and hold a valid US driver’s license with at least 1 year of driving experience in the US.

Responsibilities

• Provide skills training in activities of daily living during day, evening, or overnight shifts.
• Foster independence by creating opportunities for decision-making and growth.
• Administer medications per MAP regulations and maintain required certifications.
• Maintain progress notes and shift documentation per regulatory standards and policies.
• Transport and accompany residents to activities and appointments.
