Job summary

Bridgewell seeks a Direct Support Professional to provide daily living support to people with developmental, physical, and psychiatric disabilities in our residential and community programs.

You will assist with skills training, supervision, and community access, while maintaining documentation and safety standards. The role requires current certifications and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and oral communication
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Word/Excel/email and web apps
• Ability to drive a large and/or wheelchair van with a valid driver's license

Responsibilities

• Provide skills training in activities of daily living.
• Support people to develop independence and decision-making.
• Adhere to regulatory standards (DDS, DMH, MassHealth, HUD, DPH, CARF) and Bridgewell policies.
• Support medical, clinical, and financial needs for people in services.
• Transport and accompany people to activities and appointments.
• Maintain daily progress notes and shift documentation.
• Perform household cleaning duties as assigned.
• Conduct steady care calls on awake overnight shifts.
• Help people access community resources and recreation.
• Administer medications per MAP regulations where applicable.
• Maintain mandatory certifications (FA/CPR, PABC, MAP).
• Build positive relationships with guardians and stakeholders.
• Attend program meetings and supervision sessions.
• Other duties as assigned.
